31st July:
The boy who lived was born in the magical world.
And magic was born in our muggle world.
And with every turned page that magic world become more real than our actual world around. Hogwarts was our dream school, Quidditch the favourite sport and Hippogriff the favourite animal. And since that day till today there is hardly anything that changed. We are still ready to give up everything the moment we receive that long awaited letter from Hogwarts and board a train from platform 9 3/4 at the King cross station.
Since the day we met the boy who lived under the stairs, there was absolutely no going back. Nothing could ever interest us more than chocolate frogs, Bertie Bott’s every flavour beans, butterbeer, moving staircase, giant trolls and hidden chambers.
Along with the boy with a scar we have taken the charms, herbology, defense against dark arts, transfiguration, potion making classes. We had our midnight adventure under the invisibility cloak and we all were equally scared of Peeves and Mrs Norris.
Like ‘Roonil Wazlib’ (this was one of the funniest moment in books) in Ron and Hermione we found our friends. We did our homework, played chess, brewed polyjuice potion, became member of S.P.E.W., fought dragons, squids and spiders, practised spells and destroyed the horcruxes.
With the Chosen One we shared the Hatred for Snape and love for Hagrid. Mrs Weasley and Burrow brought smile to our faces whereas a ride back to Dursley’s in Privet Drive was dreaded. Along with him we laughed louder on the jokes of Fred and George and had our fill with Hogwarts feast. Any mention of Quidditch would light up our faces and potion classes will put us off just like him.
Harry Potter, you made our childhood awesome and full of adventures. It was a pleasure knowing you and growing up with you. You taught us the true meaning of courage, loyalty, friendship and bravery. We have read many books and came across many characters which we have loved but none that we lived. Only you had the magic to made us live those moments with you.
A very happy birthday Harry Potter, the boy who lived and will continue to live forever.

Aw, what a great tribute. Though I was an adult when Harry came on the scene, I still enjoyed the books and movies. We once took our then teenage nieces on a Harry Potter themed scavenger hunt at the Museum of Art in Boston. Good times.

Thank you. I believe Harry Potter is beyond age groups. I still read it with the same enthusiasm as when I was a kid.
Your neices are lucky. I have never been to any Harry Potter themed places. On my list now.

The scavenger hunt was based on knowledge of Harry trivia. My wife made us all Harry scarves for the event. Good times.

I don’t know why but I never took to Harry Potter. So many peeps around here liked it but for me it just draws in a dark vibe. Again, not sure why because I do like GOT, Vikings, and Sci-Fi shows… many dealing with ‘magical’ themes. So I don’t think that’s it. Anyhow, yours seems like a stellar writeup. Wish I could share the excitement on this one! 😊

Thank you so much. Harry potter is something which I have grown up with, it seems like an important part of childhood.
I am not sure what you mean by the dark vibes but yeah its definitely a magic.
Between even if you can’t share the excitement, you have gone through the post that means a lot ❤️

Cheers & keep blogging!
P.S. Thank you for checking out my blog post. It too has a tiny Harry Potter reference. Did you find it? 😉

Exactly. Even I read it after a while during the lockdown but the magic was very much alive. The book never fail to amaze no matter how many times you read it.
I guess I miss the reference. Please do illuminate me.

I know right?! Me too! It was so amazing not knowing what was gonna happen next. I mean, entering the magical world felt as if we were swept into another dimension altogether. And I remember reading everything I could about J K Rowling. I was obsessed with her, you know on You tube there’s a series based on her life, incase if you haven’t seen it, you should. It’s amazing! I’ve watched all her documentaries. I was obsessed. I think I’ve said it before but the world she created, it was crazy!!!!
