What is Life?

One question that keep on bothering me is – What is life?

Is it about listening to your heart or doing things according to your mind.
.
Is it about giving up on certain things or keep on pursuing them till last.
.
Is it about forgetting and moving on or remembering the bad things as lesson.
.
Is it about going with the flow or standing steady on your grounds.
.
Is it about treasuring fond memories or letting go of the past completely.

To this one day my friend said, life is not about choosing a side but finding a balance.

But isn’t it tough to balance the two sides of the same coin?

  1. I think life is about being a chameleon. Each stage of life or period has different parts and plays out differently depending on how you handle the day to day.
Sometimes you revise and some days you go with the flow. Some days you are ready to attack and other days, you lean on family and friends.

    1. Wow. That’s a very nice thought ❤️. Every situation requires a different action.
Thank you so much for going through the post.
But don’t you think sometimes its difficult to understand which action is suitable for which situation.

  2. Balance is actually not as hard as people make it. We let media and our emotions lead us around, pulling us to one side or the other instead of simply applying common sense and a little self-discipline to situations in our lives.

  3. The most tough and interesting pary is everyone has to find their own answers as what worked for someone else may not work for you and philosophically speaking, its meant to be confusing, derailing, tough, obstinate and above all unpredictable. When we observe in hindsight that’s what makes great memories after all. Awesomely written, prodding to think and reflect 👏👏

    1. Thank you so much Deepak for this wonderful comment.
You have raised an amazing point. Every person has their own struggle and results, and what works for one, might not work for the other. Its always on us how we want to lead our life.

      1. I am sorry, I was replying to your comment of being Kind, I meant it wasn’t about being kind but speaking the truth. You explained the dilemma so well, worth appreciating and thought provoking!

  4. I believe we learn these things as we grow up, not just physically but mentally as well. The environment around us is the best teacher. Loved the questions you asked. We all struggle with these on most days. 😇

  5. Wonderful philosophical questions, yes heart contains emotions for a reason just like the mind standby it’s logic for its own purpose. Yes it’s important to attain an equilibrium between these two. But personally you know i got a few screws lose in my head hence I’m more of a person that uses his heart as his guiding force. Wonderful write up indeed made me think on a lot of levels.

We float like feathers in a cruel world
We float, we glide and sometimes we fall apart.
Yet amidst this chaos is a puzzled girl
Who poetically decorates the war between the mind and the heart…. 🙏👍

    1. Its takes courage to go by the force of heart. Kudos to you for that.

  6. The funny thing is, I was literally thinking the same thing last night!

I like what your friend said, about balance. Yes, it’s tough, but it’s doable. And I think, in the end, it’s not necessarily being happy, but being content with what you have. Thing won’t be perfect. Things won’t always go your own way. But things will work out the way they’re meant to, we just have to accept it. And life is truly beautiful, if only you choose to see it that way. 🙂 ❤

  7. Life equals my insane thoughts and memories😅
Also, I noticed that most of the statements are contradictions of the past and future. So yeah there is always the present moment eventually becomes part of either of these times. Yipee! I found balance;)

  8. Incredibly beautiful post. 👏👏 Such a deceptive thing this Life is. Full of contradictions, and paradoxes. And everyone has his own. So probably no one definition could ever be created. Loved it. 🤜🤛👏🙌

  10. Life is nothing but a curved line. Full of ups, and full of downs. The one who can go through all these curves, will be the ultimate winner.

  12. Life is not about choosing or finding

We dont live life as much as life lives through us, within us, around us. It is all there is

It is all that is quiet and enduring and peaceful

Beyond all that we choose and all the we find

  13. I feel life is everything that you said above…
Finding the balance or not, I don’t know…
I just know that we know a few things and we don’t know a few things and that is THE FUN IN LIFE:)
