Rainy Days

The sky is overcast. There is incessant rain. It looks like it will continue like this for a week. The roads are already muddy and full of puddles. The streets are congested, the drains are overflowing. The glorious smell of the rain is now turning to a stench. The days are gloomy, and the nights are restless. I am irritated and tired. I want to sleep. Still weirdly, when I close my eyes, sleep doesn’t come easily. And when it does, I dream strangely. The dreams make me anxious, and the morning makes me crib.

To think of it, rain is like a double faced person. It looks good and inviting only from the outside. But the more you get into it, the more trouble you are inviting.

Maybe for a change, I won’t mind a familiar yellow face peeking out from the cloud tomorrow. Or maybe I can stay in my bed and enjoy the rain from my window tomorrow.

I don’t know what I want. Puzzle mind, you see!

      3. One day it was sunny and I was like finally bye to rain and next day again drizzling and suddenly heavy rain. Hopefully, they will end soon!

      5. Glad to hear that. Me…same old internship and many broken bones, ots and patients. College gates open at our work time and closed when we are free….boring as hell😭😅🤭

      7. There’s lack of work…less patients to see….more of ot.. we have no work there plus its more of a routine now…so it becomes boring….these 15 days are there to relax…after that I have a very busy posting and I’ll miss this relaxation but at present I curse it😅

        How about you? Anything interesting?

      8. Hahaha . I can totally relate to you on this. I dont like sitting ideal and I dont like being too busy😄😂.
        Nah… Everything is usual..daily routine life. I am trying to plan a trip in October. So yeah.. may be then things will get interesting 😂

Most of the places including where i stay has witnessed an abundant rainfall this season and yeah we all get too tired of the same repetitive pattering and the discomfort of managig usual chores, however deep down we also crave it too during its absence. Lovely expression of your thoughts and feelings!

  14. I found myself, after your first paragraph, a little disappointed that this piece wasn’t longer. Here’s an author who appears to have an eye toward what she wants to day and the will and skill to say it.

  17. Beautifully written thoughts. Especially the second para. I enjoyed how you brought in the “puzzled mind”. A state very familiar to every one of us.
